Laser Wire® Specialty Fiber is an enhanced version of the standard Laser Wire® cabling. It is a glass optical fiber made for thin, colorful aesthetic lighting. The technology enables decorative lighting to be designed or embedded into tight or small places where other bulky lighting elements cannot fit. Designers can add light anywhere, to virtually any surface, while enhancing overall product appeal, functionality, safety, and user experience.

Viewing angle is defined as the angle at which luminance is greater than 50% of maximum. The fiber emits light uniformly in 360° around the circumference and >120° along the length when viewed from either end.

Laser Wire® cabling bends easily and can be affixed to many surfaces. The minimum bending diameter is 5mm and the cable can break if bent past this point. One laser module is required per cable. The laser power generated from the module is focused down to 170μm — roughly the size of a human hair. Because of the precision required, only one wire per module is recommended.
When Laser Wire® is cut, the cut end emits all remaining light energy, making it brighter than other points on the wire. Hide the end inside the installation or apply black heat shrink tubing to prevent light spillage.
