Custom lighting for vehicles that need to be seen, branded, or made safer — across every mode of transportation and every operating environment.
A permanent VynEL™ Cling base layer with a removable printed graphic layer on top — enabling weekly brand activations on the same vehicle without reinstalling the lighting system. Showcased at the DPAA Summit Global, NYC.
Read the Case Study →Our transportation work spans four distinct sectors — each with its own technical requirements, operating environments, and use cases.
From passenger vehicles and fleet cars to commercial trucks, buses, trailers, and specialty vehicles — land is where most of our transportation lighting work lives. The applications range from fleet advertising and brand wraps to interior accent lighting, safety visibility systems, and vehicle customization.
VynEL™ Cling conforms to the complex curves of any vehicle body the same way a standard vinyl wrap does — which means wrap shops can install and service it using their existing workflow. The permanent-base-plus-swappable-print system pioneered with Firefly is available for any fleet application.
We also work with automotive aftermarket and OEM partners on interior lighting integration — dashboard accent lighting, door panel illumination, and seat illumination using SewGlo™ and EL Wire for luxury and custom build applications.
Aviation lighting applications require materials that meet strict weight, flammability, and electrical standards. We've worked on cabin interior lighting for private and commercial aircraft, cockpit accent lighting, and exterior position and safety lighting for smaller aircraft and UAVs.
EL Wire and EL Tape are particularly well-suited to aviation interiors because of their low voltage, zero heat generation, thin profile, and light weight — all critical constraints in an aircraft cabin. We can supply FAA-compliant documentation for applicable materials on request.
We've also worked on drone and UAV visibility lighting — illumination systems for unmanned aircraft that need to be visible at distance during night operations without adding significant weight or draw to the power system.
Marine environments are among the most demanding for any electrical system — salt air, moisture, UV exposure, vibration, and submersion risk all have to be accounted for. We've worked on interior and exterior lighting for recreational, commercial, and specialty marine vessels.
For marine exteriors, VynEL™ Cling's conformable profile makes it effective on hull graphics and illuminated boat lettering and branding. For interiors, EL Wire and EL Tape with sealed connections are used for ambient lighting that handles the marine moisture environment.
We pay particular attention to IP ratings and connection sealing in marine applications. Any system we spec for a marine environment includes guidance on sealing all connections against moisture ingress.
We've provided lighting solutions for defense-adjacent applications including vehicle identification lighting, safety visibility systems, and wearable visibility gear for personnel operating in low-light environments. We don't discuss specific clients or projects in this sector.
The technical capabilities relevant to defense applications include low-voltage and low-power operation, lightweight flexible form factors, blackout-compatible dim settings, infrared-visible options, and rugged construction for field environments.
If your project involves defense, military, law enforcement, or emergency services applications — contact us directly rather than submitting through the standard project form. We handle these conversations differently.
We do not discuss specific defense clients or projects publicly. We can discuss technical capabilities, materials, and general application categories. All defense and government work is handled under NDA and appropriate confidentiality agreements. Contact us at info@ellumiglow.com to start that conversation.
Three technologies cover most transportation applications. The right choice depends on your surface, environment, and whether the lighting is permanent or needs to change.
Whether it's a single vehicle prototype or a fleet rollout — tell us what you're building and we'll spec the right approach.
