Lighting design at Ellumiglow is not a consultation call that ends with a product recommendation. It is a complete design engagement — from initial site review and technology selection through full lighting plans, specification drawings, installation coordination, programming, and commissioning.
We work directly with building owners, general contractors, architects, and developers. No third-party lighting designer needed as an intermediary. That keeps communication clean, decisions fast, and the scope accountable to a single contact.
Our design capability spans commercial, architectural, hospitality, retail, entertainment, and event spaces — using EL, LED, and Laser Wire® as appropriate for the application. Most complex projects use more than one technology, and the design process is built around matching the right tool to each zone of the build.

Full Lighting PlansFixture placement, zone definitions, run lengths, control wiring, and power requirements — drawn to a standard your electrician or installer can work from directly.

Why this approach works
Most commercial lighting projects involve three parties: a lighting designer, a product supplier, and an installation contractor. Each handoff introduces coordination overhead — scope gaps, incompatible specs, and timeline slippage that typically falls between the parties rather than being owned by any of them.
Ellumiglow handles all three roles. The design is done by the same people who specify and supply the products, which eliminates the translation layer between design intent and product reality. When something needs to change in the field, there is one call to make.
This matters most on commercial builds where the exterior lighting, interior spaces, and feature elements all need to coordinate — and where the owner doesn't have the bandwidth to manage three separate vendor relationships.

The Forge required a complete lighting strategy across two very different problems: a large-format curved exterior LED video display following the building's architectural radius, and a full interior event space design for Cellar 54. Handling both from design through commissioning — with live advertising revenue running on the exterior display at project completion — is what a full-building lighting partnership looks like in practice.

Not every project needs a full design engagement. Many clients come to us with a concept, a budget, and a set of requirements — and need help figuring out which technology is the right starting point and what a realistic scope looks like before committing to a full design.
Lighting consultation at Ellumiglow is a working conversation, not a sales call. We'll tell you honestly if EL Wire is the right product for your application or if LED or Laser Wire® is a better fit — even when that means pointing you in a direction that's simpler or less expensive than what you walked in expecting.

Cut & Solder Services
Custom Lengths, Terminated & Ready to Install
Off-the-shelf lighting products come in standard lengths. Most installations don't fit standard lengths. Rather than having your installer cut, strip, solder, and heat-shrink connections in the field — where mistakes are costly — we handle it in-house before the order ships.
Every custom cut and solder order is tested before it leaves. You receive pre-made assemblies that plug into your inverter or controller and work on first connection. No guesswork, no field soldering, no failed connections after installation.
This is particularly valuable for large installations, OEM production runs, and any application where field assembly time adds up. A wiring harness that takes an installer 45 minutes to build in the field takes us 5 minutes in-house — multiplied across 50 units, that's a real cost difference.

Custom cut and fabricated orders are non-returnable once production has started. For OEM and production orders, we recommend a sample run before committing to full quantity. Contact us before ordering if you have questions about specifications.
What's included
Precision cutting to specified length
Cut to your exact measurements. Lengths specified in inches or millimeters. Tolerance is tighter than field cutting — important for installations with strict dimensional requirements.
Connector termination
Ends terminated with the appropriate connector for your inverter or controller — standard EL connectors, bare wire, or custom connectors on request. Specify connector type when ordering.
Soldered connections
All connections soldered for reliability — not just crimped. Crimp connections fail under flex stress; solder joints don't. This matters for wearables, stage use, and anywhere the wire will be handled repeatedly.
Heat shrink & end caps
All exposed connection points sealed with heat shrink tubing. End caps applied where appropriate to prevent moisture ingress and protect the wire terminus.
Tested before shipping
Every assembly is powered up and tested before it ships. If it doesn't light correctly, it doesn't leave. No dead-on-arrival connections, no troubleshooting on-site.

We handle concept development, prototyping, production specification, and volume manufacturing coordination through our global production network.
We work directly with factories that manufacture to our specifications — not generic catalog specs. That means the product you prototype is the product you produce at scale, not a close approximation made from whatever the factory had in stock.
