DMX RGB Module Spec Sheet

The Laser Wire® DMX RGB Module adds full DMX512 control, color mixing, and dynamic effects to Laser Wire® installations. Used in theatrical, architectural, and stage productions where automated lighting control is required.

Product Overview

The DMX RGB Module combines red (635nm), green (520nm), and blue (450nm) laser diodes in a single housing, each independently addressable via DMX512. By mixing red, green, and blue at different intensities, the module can produce a wide range of colors along a single Laser Wire® cable. Each color channel drives its own FC connector output, which can feed into a single fiber run or separate fiber runs depending on the desired effect.

The DMX RGB Module is the module of choice for permanent theatrical installs, trade show displays, and any application requiring automated color sequencing, fades, or dynamic effects. Spec sheet PDF coming to this page shortly — contact us for current specifications.

Key Capabilities

🎭
DMX512 Control
Full DMX512 protocol support. Configure channel address for independent or grouped control. Compatible with any standard DMX controller.
🌈
RGB Color Mixing
Red (635nm), Green (520nm), and Blue (450nm) channels mix to produce a wide gamut of colors along a single fiber. Each channel is independently controlled.
🔥
Dynamic Effects
Full fade, strobe, chase, and color sweep effects via DMX programming. Compatible with DualDrive mode for gradient effects between two modules.
⚙️
Permanent Install Grade
Designed for permanent architectural and theatrical installs. Heat sinked for continuous operation. Standard DMX 5-pin XLR input/output.

DualDrive Color Gradient with DMX

Combining two DMX RGB Modules in DualDrive mode (one on each end of the same fiber run) enables dramatic gradient effects. As the DMX controller fades one color on one end and a different color on the other end, the fiber displays a smooth transition across its entire length. The gradient shape and speed are fully programmable. This capability is used extensively in theatrical scenery, architectural accent lighting, and art installations.

Compatible Fiber Profiles

The DMX RGB Module is compatible with all three Laser Wire® Specialty Fiber profiles. For dynamic color mixing effects, Pop (5M) and Accent (10M) profiles produce the most visible gradient range. Super Pop is best for short, high-intensity accent runs where color changes are the goal rather than a gradient.
