Product Overview
The OpalDrive Wearable Laser Wire® Module is an upgrade to the ever-popular OpalDrive module. Now in a far more portable size, the OpalDrive Wearable is a compact, rechargeable, single-color laser module designed for the wearables industry. The module has single-button operation that cycles through Blink, Fade, and Constant On, and is recharged via a Micro-USB 5V device. It can also be powered externally with a Power Bank-style cell phone charger for longer portable illumination. A specialized locking LC connector fits securely to Laser Wire® cable. Four LED indicator lights show battery life and charging status.

Battery and Charging
Before use, fully charge the OpalDrive module with the standard Micro-USB input. Four LED lights on the OpalDrive indicate successful charging. A fully charged battery lasts up to 6 hours in Stand Alone Mode. An external Power Bank can be added for additional longevity.
When charging properly, the device will blink consecutive LEDs repeatedly until fully charged, at which point the LEDs turn off.
Battery Hibernation
If the module has not been used for some time, the battery may enter hibernation. If it only shows a single LED when plugged in, press the power button 4 times quickly (On, Blink, Fade, Off). This resets the battery and the lights should flash consecutively when charging resumes.
Switching Between Modes
Once the OpalDrive is powered on, press the power button once to cycle through modes: Constant On → Blink → Fade → Off.
DualDrive Mode with OpalDrive
Two OpalDrive modules can be used simultaneously — one on each end of the same Laser Wire® cable. In DualDrive mode, you can unlock multiple color options and create gradient effects. Using two different colors produces a natural gradient across the fiber length. The OpalDrive’s compact size makes DualDrive ideal for garments, where two small modules can be concealed in pockets or sewn into linings.
Installation Notes
The laser module is lightweight and portable, easy to hide in pockets. Install the module so there is minimum pressure exerted on the Laser Wire® cabling — the wire can kink where the LC connector boot meets the cabling. This is the most common reason for failure. The product is intended for dry locations only.
Laser Safety
Never point the OpalDrive at anyone’s face or eyes. Connect the Laser Wire® to the OpalDrive before powering on. Do not get the OpalDrive wet, even when turned off. Avoid direct eye exposure at all times.
