Pro Application Tips
VynEL™ Application
  • Iron-on method: use a dry iron at 280–300°F (cotton setting). Press for 15–20 seconds — do not slide. Let cool fully before handling.
  • Layered garments: apply to the outer shell only, not batting or lining. Keep connectors accessible through a side seam or hem.
  • Connector placement: route the pigtail connector through an inner seam pocket to the hem. Velcro attachment works well for inverter access.
  • Edge finishing: VynEL can be cut with scissors or a rotary cutter. Seal cut edges with a thin bead of fabric glue to prevent delamination.
  • Washing: hand wash cold, lay flat. Do not machine dry or dry-clean. Disconnect inverter before laundering.
SewGlo™ Application
  • Machine sewing: use a size 90/14 or 100/16 needle. Set tension 1–2 points looser than normal thread. Test on a scrap first.
  • Hand embroidery: SewGlo works with standard embroidery needles. Use a thimble — the wire core can be stiff on dense stitches.
  • Thread tension: too-tight tension causes visible puckering and can fracture the core. If the fabric bunches, loosen upper tension.
  • Power leads: leave 4–6 inches of tail at the start and end of each run. Strip the outer sheath and twist together all same-color ends before connecting.
  • Pattern design: continuous runs glow more evenly than short segments. Avoid tight corners under ½ inch radius — the EL wire can kink.
