Astrophotography 5in EL Panel Circle Flat Frame Kit

The Astrophotography 5 inch Circle Flat Frame Kit is a perfect, portable light that is used by astrophotographers from across the globe. The even light distribution allows for photographers to easily create their subframes in order to take out the noise produced by ambient lighting and environmental factors. Kit comes with 5" EL Panel circle, choice of inverters, and the option to add a piece of frosted acrylic. No soldering or tools required; Plug and play ready!

Often times, photographers using this kit want a thin piece of frosted acrylic to help diffuse the light evenly. Now you can add this acrylic to the kit by selecting on the drop down window. Depending on customer's setup, sometimes the phosphor particles (which is part of granular nature of EL Technology) can be seen due to the power of the scope. We recommend adding the acrylic to help reduce the granular effect, and it also helps soften and even out the light. This makes the light a nice natural white light which is not too cool (blue) or warm (yellow). It also helps limit banding when taking stills or video, and dims the light slightly. This acrylic piece is typically meant to be installed on the front side of the EL panel, and our current EL Panel has an adhesive front (and back). Choose between 1pc of acrylic to apply on the front side, or select 2pcs in the drop down window to sandwich the EL Panel between two pieces of acrylic for maximum durability. Simply peel and stick the acrylic directly to the face of the panel, much like applying a screen protector. We now give the option of a self-assembly where you assemble the acrylic onto the face of the EL Panel, or with pre-assembly where one of our technicians will pre-assemble at our lab prior to shipping. For self assembly, start on one edge and push down slowly and evenly with a flat tool (like a credit card or squeegee) to make even contact with the acrylic. The backside also has an adhesive, so if you are looking to stick it to a dust cap, it's a simple peel-n-stick application. This kit now has inverter options to best suit your individual needs. The standard 9V Battery Pack + Inverter combo is a simple standalone solution that has a brightness adjustment wheel to easily select the required brightness. 

Our newest option is a USB Inverter, along with a touch dimmer, which can be purchased with or without a rechargeable battery. This touch dimmer allows you to turn the panel on/off with the touch of a finger. Press and hold the dimmer to dim, release to keep dimming adjustment. Too dim? Press and hold the dimmer to increase the brightness until release. A quick press will turn the device off or on. The dimmer will retain the last setting with a quick press. What's especially nice about the battery is it has a built-in flashlight to help find your tools! Use the drop-down windows to customize the kit to your liking!
