Fabric Compatibility & Best Practices

  • Compatible Fabrics: TPU film, woven fabrics, artificial leather

  • Leather Considerations: Natural leather is more challenging; pre-stitching with standard thread may improve success.

  • Bottom Yarn: Match SewGlo™ thread diameter (0.3mm) for best results.

Important Notes:

  • Avoid piercing the illuminated thread with the needle to prevent short circuits.

  • For complex designs, use parallel connections within 10m for consistent brightness.

  • Leave 10-20cm of excess thread at the start and end for proper connectivity.

Connecting & Powering SewGlo™

SewGlo™ operates similarly to EL wire and requires an inverter to function. The inverter provides the necessary voltage and frequency (800-6500Hz) to illuminate the thread.

Key Power & Connection Considerations:

  • Does SewGlo™ Need an Inverter? Yes, all electroluminescent materials require an inverter.

  • Can It Be Cut? Yes, but seal the cut end with waterproof glue to protect it.

  • How to Connect? Contact us for detailed guides or view our video tutorial.

  • Customization Available? Yes! We provide custom inverters, wire lengths, and embroidery services.
